In Poland when I say pope people instantly think of JP2. I've heard some jokes like "why can't the pope eat a sandwich? Because he's dead" like dude JP2 wasn't the only popePolish people have the most refined, hardcore racism I've ever seen. They hate everybody, and have hilariously zero self awareness--there's plenty of first or second generation Polish immigrants in the Chicago area who snuck in during the Cold War to escape the iron curtain, but now haaaaaate Mexican immigrants with a blazing fury, and somehow can't see any hypocrisy there.

In the Houston subreddit someone posted a picture of a belly dancer at a Greek restaurant they went to. I think they were there for their anniversary, and they really enjoyed the restaurant food and entertainment. I looked closely at the picture, turned out I knew the dancer, we had taught at the same charter School about three years before. One of her first graders had been allowed by her mother to get ice cream every day before school at 7 a.m. Every day she crossed a major thoroughfare in rush hour traffic with her older brother. One day she ran ahead, and was hit by a school bus that couldn't stop in time, and was killed instantly. My friend was devastated beyond belief and ended up leaving education. Not a recording, but the images of Regina Kay Walters, who Robert Ben Rhoades killed... he took her picture several times right before he killed her, and right after he told her what he was going to do. The pics themselves are a touch creepy, but knowing the context makes them downright chilling.I’m about as far away from Lil’ Peep’s demo as anyone can be, and I didn’t know who he was - the video just haunted me.
