My brother is a big Republican. Back in 2000, when Gore had more popular votes than W, but W won the Electoral College, I told him we absolutely have to get rid of the EC. He responded, “We can’t go by the popular vote, the Democrats would win every time!” I told him that’s the way it should be! Same mindset.I really don't understand this argument. If Republicans can't win at the national level, they need to adjust their platform to be more appealing and expand their voter base.
