Damn what a rough way to find out. I can relate: In my early 20s (15ish years ago) I was working a data entry job that let us wear headphones while we worked. I was listening to local media and a report came on about my friend that got shot in the head. I went to my supervisor bawling me eyes out and asked to leave. They were pretty great about stuff like that and even let me use vacation time to cover the half my shift I missed.

Glad to see it. Even though I'm quite far removed generation-wise from my family in Poland, every time I hear about them in the news it's always an embarrassment to share blood. I don't know if they're the worst country for LGBT treatment in Europe, but they certainly seem to be trying to top the list.
